Your Drinking Water Is Safe – Public Utilities Announcement

The Anaheim Public Utilities Water Quality Division has released a statement to all Anaheim residents:

Dear Anaheim water customers,

You may have recently received a notice from Woongjin Coway, an independent consultant, stating that they will be at your residence to test your tap water due to contamination. The City of Anaheim has not issued any notice of this kind, as there are no contamination concerns with your drinking water. This may be a sales tactic by this company to sell their water filter products. We are pursuing corrective measures against this vendor to ensure this type of inaccurate and misleading information is not circulated further.

We want to assure our customers that our drinking water is safe to drink and its quality exceeds all federal, state and local standards. If there ever was contamination found in our water system as determined by the California Department of Public Health or by the US. Environmental ProtectionAgency, we can assure you that you would be officially notified by the City.

Commercially available water purification equipment can enhance the aesthetics of water quality such as hardness and taste, but they are not necessary to treat Anaheim’s water for health risks.
